Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are increasingly popular among our patients. This type of Aesthetic Oral Rehabilitation treatment aims to improve the aesthetic appearance, giving aligned teeth and giving a healthier and younger look to your smile.
At the Clínica Cerejeira e Leão dental veneers are preferably made with ceramic materials (feldspathic ceramics), which aesthetically replicate the dental enamel, have high compatibility, longevity and resistance. This material allows us to form a translucent cover, very similar to the external layer of the dental surface (enamel), mimicking the surface of the teeth allowing for very natural results that can be adapted to the characteristics of each patient.
This treatment is indicated for:
- Alterations in the shape of the teeth;
- Correction of dental deformities that can be caused by factors such as erosion, abrasion or conoid teeth;
- Bad dental position of one or more teeth;
- Closing diastemas;
- Restoration of fractured teeth;
- Length correction;
- Microdontia, among others.
At the Clínica Cerejeira e Leão we can suggest the patient two types of minimally invasive aesthetic restorations:
Conventional veneers – in these situations a small wear is made on the tooth surface thus allowing the correction of color, shape, position, contour and alignment of your teeth
Restorations without preparation, also known as “contact lenses” or “fragments” – have the advantage of any minimally invasive treatment, that is, they save all or practically all of the remaining tooth structure. They can also be used to restore occlusion guides to prevent joint problems by restoring function.
At the Clínica Cerejeira e Leão, we use dental veneers, dental lenses or fragments that can be as thin as 0.3mm, which means that they can be very fragile and break easily. To counteract this fragility, we use adhesive materials that allow a very efficient adhesion to the dental enamel, ensuring the resistance and durability of the treatment.
By performing the perfect adhesion of the dental veneers to the tooth surface, the material gains incredible resistance.
These adhesive procedures are always very sensitive to the technique used, which means that every care and attention is required in all phases of the treatment. At the Clínica, we have Dr. Luís Leão, a nationally renowned professional with an exclusive practice in implantology and oral rehabilitation. Dr. Luís Leão uses the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry, combined with excellent quality materials, to ensure that treatments meet the expectations of each patient.
The dental veneers treatment will be performed over three appointments, which depending on the patient’s availability can be performed within 3 weeks.
The first appointment is the planning phase. We make a medical observation of the patient’s oral condition, and use medical tests to certify that this treatment is indicated for the case. In this visit, after presenting the entire treatment process to the patient, using digital planning technology, we immediately present an approximation of the final result in digital form.
The second appointment is for patient preparation. In this appointment we prepare the teeth on which our dental veneers will be applied, take the final impressions and place the temporary dental veneers. These temporary veneers will be a great help in protecting the tooth while we produce/create the final veneers. In this phase we always advise some care during chewing.
The third appointment will be the veneers placement. After we have worked out each dental veneer in an individual and personalized way to the patient, we will then proceed with its placement over the prepared teeth. This minimally invasive restoration represents a high-quality esthetic and functional solution, managing to combine the conservative requirement of the preparations with its qualities of resistance and unequaled esthetics.
